Historic Curtis Park Firehouse

Shortly after purchasing the historic Curtis Park Firehouse, the owner/builder (www.BaumhoferHomes.com) approached us about providing him with a set of working drawings for securing permits. The dramatic changes he had in mind for the building involved converting this charming building to a family home. What vision!

During the permitting process we addressed current codes, including energy codes, life safety codes, and codes addressing structural integrity. This we were able to do as we teamed up with the client during the entire process.

The client wanted the wide open space which had originally housed the fire trucks to be converted into a family room. The original garage doors for the fire trucks were perfect as French doors, casting plenty of light into the kitchen and family room areas.

At Avignon Design we remember this project as a great opportunity to be a part of preserving a unique piece of historic architecture.
